Urine deposited on carpet can move beyond the surface and into the carpet fibers, backing, padding, and flooring material below. Pets may also return to the same general area, which can make the issue more noticeable over time. Depending on the severity, odors may come from the carpet, pad, subfloor, tack strip, baseboards, or nearby materials.

As urine dries, liquid evaporates while odor-causing residue can remain. Standard cleaning may not fully address odor issues when contamination has reached deeper layers.

When P.U.R.T.® is applied to affected areas, it is designed to react with odor-causing components and help reduce pet urine odors at the source.

How P.U.R.T.® Works

1. We evaluate the source and severity of the odor. We may rinse and extract the carpet with a hot water rinse to remove a portion of the urine residue.
2. In more severe cases, we may need to pull back the carpet in the affected areas to review the extent of the issue.*
3. If necessary, we may recommend removing and replacing the pad.*
4. If needed, we may apply an odor-blocking shellac to the subfloor.*
5. P.U.R.T.® may then be applied to affected areas such as the tack strip, subfloor, baseboards, carpet backing, and carpet fibers. The product is applied based on the areas impacted by urine.*
6. Over the next 24 to 36 hours, P.U.R.T.® is designed to react with urine residue and help reduce odor-causing components.
